How to Get Started

After reviewing our Clambake Menu Options and pricing give us a call. We can discuss in more detail any of your culinary needs for your event. Select a date for your clambake, and we'll check if the requested date and time are available. 

Once we've agreed on a menu, date and time, we will mail you a contract. You will receive two copies of the contract: sign them, keep one for your records, and mail the other one back to us. 

 

A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your party date and time. We accept personal checks.

 

14 days before your party, we'll need your final headcount and balance payment. 

                       

All menu prices are subject to a 7% Massachusetts meals tax.

                       

If you need tent and/or table rentals we can introduce you to our favorite full-service tent company, Party Cape Cod. They will take care of all your facility needs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Q: Can I host my clambake party anywhere, or do I have to have it on the beach?

A: We can cater clambakes everywhere from backyards to beaches. We will need access to the outdoors: that's where we set up our kitchen. A traditional pit-style clambake doesn't necessarily have to be on a beach, but we do need to dig a pit and have enough space for a large fire (with no over-hanging branches); we also need access to running water and electricity for night time events. A pot-style clambake can go almost-anywhere: we bring our own kitchen and water supply. We will need to set up a cooking station with reasonable access to the buffet area. For evening events, access to electricity for lighting must be available.

 

 

Q: What is the minimum guest count?

A: Our traditional pit-style clambakes are for 50 or more people. We offer our pot-style clambakes for 20 or more.

 

 

Q: When do you need to have our head count?

A: When the contract is signed, we ask for an approximate number so we can start planning your clambake. We need your final headcount 14 days prior to the party.

 

Q: Do you offer any other food choices besides the bake menu?

 A: We offer a variety of additional items, from raw bars to salads and kids meals. Any additional items offered are listed on our Bake Menu page under EXTRAs.

 

 

Q: Why is there different pricing for the bake compared to the boil?

 A: A pit-style bake is actually baked in the ground over rocks that have been heated and covered with rock weed. The additional materials, time, and labor add to the cost. See our menu page for specifics.

 

 

Q: Do you offer alternatives for people who don't eat lobsters?

A: As long as we know in advance, we can swap out lobsters for steak or chicken. Additional individual orders, children's menu and sides are also available. See our additional items list on our bake menu page.

 

 

Q: What does the per-person menu price include?

A: The per-person menu price includes the clambake menu itself, as well as condiments, buffet tables, chafing dishes and other serving supplies. We bring claw crackers as well as disposable serving plates, plasticware, napkins, and wet naps. Trash bags and bins, too.

 

 

Q: Does the price include tax and tips?

A: No. There is a 7% Massachusetts tax on meals, we do not add gratuity. If you feel our team has given you exceptional service gratuities are greatly appreciated. Our Team is paid thru the labor included on your bill.

 

 

Q: How is our staff paid?

A: We charge an hourly rate for our staff. The size of your party will determine how much staff is needed to manage your event. We charge 40.00 per hour for our staff. Minimum of four hours per staff member.

 

 

Q: How do we pay?

A: We ask that you return your signed contract to us with a non-refundable $500.00 deposit to hold your party date and time. The balance is due 14 days prior to your party. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cash and checks. If you're paying by check, please note, we require a credit card number until we receive confirmation your check has cleared. If you are paying by credit card we charge an additional 3% of total.

 

Q: How long will the Cape Cod Raw Bar Team be at the event?

A: Our modern pot-style clambake party takes about two and a half to three hours from the time we arrive, cook, serve, and collect the trash. For these, we arrive one hour before serving time. Our traditional pit-style clambake takes about seven hours from the time we arrive, cook, and serve, on through to collecting all the trash. We will arrive 5 hours before serving time.

 

 

Q: Who takes care of the trash?

A: Cape Cod Raw Bar will remove all trash we create from the site.
